Thank you for all your ongoing support thus far, By Word Of Mouth has had a wonderful year and we are planning to keep the pace going with tons of exciting ventures.

I can smell that silly season scent in the air already; I can´t believe that it´s that time again. Our phones have been ringing off the hook for year end and Christmas party requests and we have been blessed with some stunning upcoming events.

For the spring newsletter, Anneline decided to shoot a few different floral art concepts to show off the talent and capabilities of the By Word of Mouth Floral art team. Anneline lives by the motto the sky is the limit when it comes to floral design. We believe there is nothing like flowers to set the mood, style and ambience for any event or wedding.

We are always looking for reasons to entertain, and here is one more for you to have a bit of fun with. Everybody deserves a bit of fun after the year we´ve had so far. By Word of Mouth has numerous requests to provide ideas for themed events and Halloween is no exception. Our favourite one thus far was when we turned Hazeldene Hall into a haunted house. This has been a really exciting year for the staffing division. We have employed 3 new Front of House managers. Wise Hadebe has been with By Word of Mouth for 3 years as a waiter and has been promoted to front of house manager, Iain Wilson comes with a lot of experience in hospitality and Justin Taylor has also got a lot of experience in the catering business. Along with Gareth Madden and the manager of our staffing division Guy Widelski, we have an extremely strong front of house team which is capable of managing any size function brilliantly.

Ever since Karen Short opened the company doors, braai´s have always been a good option for anything from end of year parties to 50th birthday parties. We´ve done everything when it comes to braaiing (By Word of Mouth style), black tie braai´s, braai on your feet, a beach braai in Jozi, Thai braai´s, roof top braai´s and an elegant wedding braai. The latest trend now is a full on plated 5 coarse meal with every little single thing prepared off large barel braai´s. We have done this a few times now and it has proven to be extremely popular and successful, everybody loves it! Here is a sample menu for you to have a peak at.

Well that was quite a spectacular winter sporting season! Having successfully negotiated the IPL as well as the Confederations Cup, By Word of Mouth Sports Division has gone from strength to strength and delivered wonderfully presented and delicious meals to all of its clients. There are just 2 more stepping stones on the way to the World Cup 2010 next year, the England Cricket Tour and the ICC Champions Trophy. It promises to be a rollercoaster ride of cricket action with the best teams in the world going head–to–head right here on our doorsteps, an opportunity that really can´t be missed! The new year starts off with a bang, the 5 day Test Match at the Wanderers starts on the 14th where England will try to take our No1 ranking as the best test team in the world, make sure you plan for this early as bookings close at the beginning of December. Here is to yet another successful season and all of the nail-biting excitement that comes with it. We look forward to seeing you there ...

The Village Safe Haven is a cluster foster care facility for orphans and vulnerable, based in Buccleuch, Gauteng. It was established in 2003 and is funded through individuals, corporates and fundraising activities.

By Word of Mouth often supply uneaten and left over meals from events and functions that are perfectly fine. The work this charity does is indescribable, and By Word of Mouth always encourages donations to the Village Safe Haven. During the Fifa Confederation cup By Word of Mouth was able to supply an extra 5000 meals to them from the leftovers. Every little bit helps.

By Word of Mouth, was proud to host two very successful open day´s: One purely dedicated to weddings at our Venue Hazeldene Hall, and one purely dedicated to corporate events at our new warehouse in Sandton. Both open days´s had at least 15 different event and wedding setups and endless, funky ideas, latest trends and colour schemes.

Another, chic and simple event we recently decorated was at the Standard Bank Art Gallery. All in simple white, some candles here and there, doodling stations where guests can stand and doodle on canvases placed on plinths and beautiful tall orchids placed straight on to the gallery floor, simple yet very effective.
